Do you think I can be a National Merit Commended Scholar?

With a 201 PSAT score in New Jersey? I know how close this is cutting it to the minimum...

You are probably are commended. The commended cutoff is national (not by state) and is usually around 201.

Yes, you have a good chance. I don't recall the last time the Commended cutoff was higher than a 201.

And ilovemyblacklab, my percentile was 96... my friend who got a 203 was 97 percentile. I know it is the top 4.5% so as I said before, it is really cutting it close.

You'll likely (though not certainly) be Commended. Semifinalist, however, is out of reach.
