Writing Question Help,non-Official Q

If Roscoe <would have bothered>A to look out the window,he <would have seen>B his car <being pummeled> C bu hailstones <as big as> D baseballs. E no error.

Answer is B.
Is that a subjunctive question? Please give me the full-length Explaination. Thanks.

The first clause is subjunctive. The second uses a helping verb that suggests a subjunctive mood, although technically it is not. The clauses describe two events: bothering to look out the window and seeing the car. Looking out the window precedes seeing the car, therefore looking out the window is past perfect subjunctive and should have been 'if he had bothered to look' out the window, he would have seen... The answer is A.
