Beginning of junior year.

You should have a couple practices in before winter break so that when you take it, preferably in jan or march of your junior year, you can study more if you didn't do so well, or try the ACT (act worked better for me).

This will save you a lot of stress when application time comes around and the last thing you want to worry about are standardized tests.

Start at soon as possible. I started the fall of my junior year and studied for a LOOOONNNGG time (September-June). Ended up getting a 2250 (800 M 750 W 700 R).
