chris13, what great motivational words...
And to add to that, SAT does NOT measure you IQ.

Haha, well it's a little bit of both. I want to make my parents proud, but breaking the score is more of a personal goal. I think I've procrastinated all day. I'm about halfway finished with an app, and I have about 47 more AP Bio problems left for the 127 question study guide I received on Friday. Oh, and I still have to read lol. I don't think I'm gonna finish anything tonight. Smh…

"I hope you break your goal of a 2100 this time. However, don't worry if you don't break that score. In fact, the SAT is supposed to be slightly like an IQ test, so if you
don't break a 2100 it won't be cause you didn't work hard enough, it will just be cause your not smart enough or something like that, so basically don't sweat it. Good Luck and keep studying."
You really shouldn't post if you're going to be a *****.

Chris, if your posts were genuinely well-meaning, you should be careful of your phrasing. The second to last sentence had a really negative connotation to it. Generally, in English-speaking cultures, stating directly that someone doesn't have enough intelligence is rather rude. You should also be aware that while the SAT has some correlation to IQ, it is not a test of intelligence. I really hope that you aren't directing that last sentence of yours towards any CCer.
Now to the original point of this thread: Improving performance on the SAT. I did post a while ago, so I'm not going to retype all the stuff I said since typing on an iPod already tricky enough as it is. I just want to remind the OP and anyone else going through the preparation process that it is quality over quantity. What you get out of your mistakes on one test is more important than taking 5 tests (and making the same types of mistakes repeatedly).

Hey guys even I'm preparing for the december SAT;it is my first time. First of all I think the SAT cannot be called an IQ test no matter how you look at it. I'm an international applicant and my english was not up to the level of SAT and i started out with1800's on my mock tests. Now,however, after a month of rigorous preparation I am consistently getting 2150+ in my mock tests and managed to break 2200 5 times and 2300 2 times. I only practice on the real SAT's(the ones you can get from collegeboard) and now the questions are starting to seem real easy, even CR,which was torture for me in the beginning. I hope I get 2250+ and wanted to say that anyone can do it,genius or not,you just need practice and good material.

I've been slacking lately guys. Well, I've actually been relaxing a lot. Prep will definitely begin after I come home tomorrow after I visit a college campus.

I did a practice test this weekend. Got a 2140. Pretty disappointed with my W score (660)...thought it was my best section. Is it possible to get dumber? Maybe it's just all the stress going on.

@26antara, don't over-think the writing questions. Scores fluctuate, and some tests are easier/harder than others.
Haphazard, you never posted your last sittings' scores? Or I missed them reading through. Anyway, good luck on December; only a couple weeks left!

I'd rather not say what I made in Oct. lol. It's really, really embarrassing. November scores will be posted tomorrow morning at 6, or so, a.m. I visited Emory's campus today, and all I have to say is that it's beautiful. I'm gonna crack open the SAT Bible and PWN the SAT in a bit here. I think I'm gonna relax a bit and maybe watch a movie or something. Also, I think I need to develop a new essay format. I've screwed up my essay twice on the actual thing with my current format: thesis, opposition w. example to prove why other side is wrong, example, example, conclusion. We'll see how things go.
