PSAT most similar to practice test of corresponding year?

Are the PSATs for each year necessarily more similar to the official practice test released the same year than other years? I remember last year's practice PSAT asked a question about a venn diagram that was similar to a question on the practice guide or the practice exam, but it was only one instance.

The 2012 practice test is the same, exact test that was administered on 10/13/2010. The current practice test is usually the actual test from two years prior.

I thought the practice test was an accurate representation of how well you do on the real test. My scores between the practice test and the real test scores differed like 1 point
