i think the curve is easier....because the curve depends on the average performance on people who take the test. and in this case, people who took the Nov.2010 test are mostly native speakers and they might have performed better than us

It was an answer choice, but it wasn't the right answer.

Guys, I signed up just to ask a question. Remember the question about the hose in the math section? I have my doubts, or more precisely, I need my memory to be confirmed. I don't remember at all which answer choice I selected. Didn't the question go as the following?

Hose A fills a tank with the speed of y = t, and hose B fills the same tank with the speed of y (subscript 2) = t/2 where t is the number of minutes. How much time does it takes for the entire tank to fill up if it is 18 litres? (unit is in litres per minute)

This premise is what I remember for this question. Can someone correct me? Because if that was the premise, the answer should have been 12 and I don't remember if there was a 12 amongst the answer choices.

I wrote my test in India and I'm wondering about the section which was experimental, Any help ? I think it was the music one with the brothers banging the piano and other elegantly composing.
I had taken the ten SAT tests from the college board book, and those questions seemed weird. The other sections felt more relatable in type of questions length etc.
please reply

@Freudandjung

if I recall correctly, the question asked for "t". The question said that the two things filled together in 12 hours (or minutes, I dont know). A filled in T hours, the B in T/2 hours. So,

T = 36
and T/2 = 18

because

1/36 + 1/18 = 1/12, being 12 the total time if they fill it together.

So it did not ask for t. Wasn't t the time? Sorry, but would you please clarify? Do you mean that the t denotes rate? As you said above, if the question said that "after 12hours" it would be giving off t (if t indicates time). Would you be so kimd as to clarify what you have said above?

the question asked for t, the time A filled the thing.

What the question told us:
A fills in T
B fills in T/2
A+B fill in 12 hours.

The question asked> T equals to?

Way to solve:

1/T + 1/(T/2) = 1/12

1/t + 2/T = 1/12

12/ T.12 + 24/ T.12 = T/T.12

36/T.12 = T/T.12

36=T

I hope I explained well...
