I picked B because "deep" is an adjective. And "deep" (at least I don't believe..) isn't referring to the corals being deep. I thought it meant, the corals were found in deep places. So it was modifying the ver, "grown/grow". But it's actually A. Why?

You're giving the coral a place. Place is a noun. Adjectives describe nouns. Therefore, you need an adjective. It's not modifying growing. It's describing where the coral is growing.

Also, if you're in doubt, go for what feels more natural to say.
