How to Increase My Medeocre Score?

Hey! So I really need to increase my SAT score in order to be on par with some of the schools I am looking at. My goal is 1850+

So far I have taken the PSAT, a Blue Book practice test, and a College Board PSAT practice test. The results are as follows:

PSAT (Sophomore Year):
CR: ?
M: ?
W: ?
Total: 153 or 1530

BB Practice Test (Summer Going into Junior Year):
CR: 520
M: 510
W: 580
Total: 1610

CB PSAT Practice Test (Today - Junior Year):
CR: 57
M: 48
W: 54
Total: 159 or 1590

I have the Blue Book so far and that's it. What would you guys recommend for increasing my SAT score? Would Gruber's Math Workbook be good for increasing my math to a 600? I am taking the SAT in January so I have a little less than 3 months. I will most likely take it 2 or 3 times. Is an increase to 1850+ even possible? Thanks.

Of course a score of 1850+ is possible for you!

To increase your Math to the 600 and above mark, I would recommend the book PWN the SAT: Math, and then I would suggest Barrons Math Workbook. For the CR, I would say Barrons Critical Reading Workbook and for you to read higher level things. For the Writing, understand the 5 basic grammar rules: parallelism, subject verb agreement, misplaced modifiers, subject pronoun agreement, and pronoun verb agreement.

It all comes down to studying, practicing, going over AND understanding what you had wrong.

Also, if you feel that the SAT isn't for you, I would suggest looking into the ACT.

It's more than possible. So, you can do it!

I used "critical reading study guide" from amazon to help out my CR score. It's kinda short, but its got some good strategies for boosting your score in CR. That and Barron's are both pretty good from my experience

Practice, practice and practice some more. Subject specific books help if you are really dedicated to do the book to its entirety (or close to it).
People can improve 400+ its possible , it just takes hard work

Taking a lot of practice tests that mimic the actual SAT is a very effective way to score 2100+. You can time yourself exactly like the test timings so you will be used to the pattern and your confidence will improve! Good luck!
