Alright, and that sounds rather encouraging. Hope the test will be just as easy for Saturday!

For the paired passages, I skim through the questions and underline the parts of the passage that are mentioned in the passage (so that when I read through it, I can pay extra attention during those parts). After that I just read through the passages and answer the questions. Works for me pretty well...

Oh and YES. I felt like that too... wasn't sure if it was just me though because I did horribly last year... I thought the CR section was decent, and the writing section was easy overall excluding a few problems, but the math was the easiest out of all math sections I've ever taken. I finished the math about 10 minutes early and just kept double checking my answers afterwards. There was only one problem that gave me trouble, but once I figured it out the problem seemed really easy. :x I think I might actually have a chance at being a NMSF this year lol.

I've also only taken one practice test for the PSAT. The closer it gets, the more I regret not studying. I kind of know the general range of scores I'll get, but now I'm getting worried. Would it be embarrassing if I didn't get any recognition from National Merit? Do colleges judge you for not being recognized, if you do fine on the ACT/SAT's?

Don't stress out. I admit, I crammed and took a practice PSAT right before I went in to take the actual, but... xD
Study a little bit, and maybe do a few practice problems, but try to relax and make sure to get enough sleep. (:
And no, if you don't do well on the PSAT all you miss out on is a chance at a possible full-ride to some colleges (there's a list of colleges that give full-rides to NMFs). My cousin bombed the PSAT but did well on his SAT, and now he's happily studying at Stanford. (:

LOL. OKay so people are always flippin out about SLEEP AT LEAST 8 HOURS.
I just want to say I sept for like 4 hours and I think I did pretty good. So don't flip out if you don't get 8 hours of sleep! Sleep enough so you don't fall asleep during the test
BEST OF LUCK!

Thanks gomdorri! I feel so much less stressed. Well, actually I looked up some of those colleges, and I wish that I didn't miss out on that, but now I guess I'll be more motivated to study in advance for the real thing!

and thanks kimmylouie too!
I've actually heard from coaches that it's two nights before the event that matters, and that if you get something like 8 hours then, and 2 hours the night before, you'll feel like you got 8. Good thing I slept yesterday!---but not really. |

Geebus how were you able to function? o___o I mean, I get 4 hours of sleep usually but for standardized testing I need at least 8 hours to properly think. xD Otherwise my passage-reading speed is reaaaaaally slow and I spend more than a minute on each question. XD

OMG that's what my 8th grade English teacher said too.
I only got around 4 hours of sleep the night before the night before though. Oh well. I think I did alright.
GOOD LUCK!! (:

Haha, that's reassuring! Hopefully I'll make it through without going cross-eyed. Maybe I should hit up some coffee. Although...I hear that causes excessive peeing...

Well, I didn't exactly study, so I can't really help you there. What I have been doing for the writing section is sounding things out in my head, and like 90% of the time that's good enough.
I guess I'm off to catch some zzz's now, but best of luck to everyone! Let's kill this test > |
