It's definitely instructions, since it started "first, blahblah".

@deathblade
nuh uh have you checked out the 2008 thread?
it started out with "first" because it was to introduce the ballet lessons and what they involved. it didnt have a sequence of commanding terms or instructions i.e. "secondly", "then/and then", "next". the "steps" weren't instructions but actual physical motions because it specifically talked about how the people there moved and continued their repetition

Does anyone remember the question in the chinese passage about the author's birthplace. Is it fortuitous revelation or pragmatic requirement?
I answer the former but I am not sure. Can some experts explain this question pls.

That one was pragmatic requirement, since he only acquired the father's birthplace for a college application. Therefore, the reason is practical, being that he merely needs it to fulfill one of the requirements.

fortuitous makes sense, but having to fill out a blank in app ain't no "revelation"

Is anyone aware of the way universities evaluate secondary school grades? Because the academic system from country were I'm from, Argentina, dosen't use curve grading.. Universities will just ask my school's administration to present an inform that shows my performance compared with my classmate's? Or they just want to see the final scores on the different subjects?
