Since no one is on the writing thread, can someone just clarify what the writing experimental was? Was the air travel passage with the blimp and 'improving air travel for the future' passage the real section?

I am still a bit confused with the Bach passage. Why was the answer "he faced a particular challenge", not because "he discovered a hidden talent?"

^ it never said he got really good at it, or that he found he was ever good at it. at the end it just said he was struggling to keep up with the woman teacher, and she helped him see how Bach all fit together etc.

BACH- someone posted the link to the passage. If you read it, you will see the above poster is correct. It was a challenge not a hidden talent.
HAPHAZARD- I can't remember the other answer choicess because i knew what furtive meant and it described the passage perfectly....that the animals were really hard to see at night.
did anyone ever find the Glacier passage?

Oh, I just remembered the animals one - it was something about how you could only see them after long periods of waiting, searching for them, etc. The other question was about the purpose of that sentence and the answer (I think) was "to describe a difficult process".
Ihateyouall - I had experimental math and I had the blimp one so it was a real section.

Man…I didn't see furtive for some odd reason. I marked the choice that had migratory in it or whatever. Wow…that's another miss for me.

BACH: I doubt the "flawed" choice was correct. The sentence that question asked about describes the player as "IMITAT[ING]" another player. Bascially, he was being unoriginal because he was copying him.

^ I'm not sure you're right. The sentence is:
"That's it!" Charlotte would shriek when I managed to more or less imitate a snaky bass phrase and land on the right note.
The words "when I managed to more or less ... land on the right note" indicate that it was not perfect and that the narrator was having some trouble. Yes, he was imitating the notes on the paper, but that doesn't seem to be the main point of the sentence. The main point (imo) is that he was singing the song, but his singing was flawed.

^ I completely agree with nine. The whole point of that line was to show that he wan't doing a good job with the notes, that his singing was flawed (imperfect; containing mistakes).

flawed was correct for the "that's it" question. BUt wasn't there another question where imitate WAS the correct answer? Or am I confused?

Boom if you read that glacier passage, you get the answer to the evidence question that everyone claimed could be answered by the "parallel structure" part of the story. Parallel structure was the right answer for that question by the way, but for the evidence question, the correct answer was lines 7-8 about one scientist observing that 95% of Greenland is ice and therefore towns "cling to the coastline". Therefore settlement is being affected. Boom.
Thanks for posting the link ninevolt.
What are you guys' opinions on the arduous fortuitous question? Can someone maybe uncover that link?

nyc1478- because if you look at the International Thread, they had the EXACT same passages your son did......Where did he take the test? That's really weird.
