@darmenauck, get some practice books and start before it's too late!

@acousticsound, I'll look for those for you.

I've been doing nothing. /end

@darmenauck,
What is your score breakdown per section?

@acousticsound,
Do you mean the additional online practice tests that were posted before? Either way, here are these...
1) Official SAT Practice Booklets - Past and Current
2) Links to Additional Official SAT Practice Tests from CollegeBoard

@26antara,
2-3 every weekend? Wow! I'm lucky to get in one, lol. Taking one tomorrow, btw! What I've heard that is helpful is doing like a total "refresher" day once a week or so. Like reviewing over the basics (many people tend to trip up on just the obvious on test day..I did), reviewing over what you have learned from your weaknesses, and just making sure that you understand all of the information that you know and have recently learned. Not sure if it would help you, but it's worth a good shot!

Not counting today or test day: 21 more days. (Saturday, November 10 -- Friday, November 30.)

So how's the process of us?
Today I took the TOEFL. Test went well.
Now it's time to go back into SAT.

Hey one question to people, what kind of calculator are you going to use on the test?
Scientific or Graphing? Many people were recommending one graphing calc. that its name was TI-Nspire. But do we really use its functions on the test that scientific ones can't perform?

p.s - I'm not familiar with graphing calculators. Even though, I've taken the SAT, I've absolutely no idea about what kind of questions could be solved more easily and quickly by graphing calc.

Use Ti-84 or Ti-83

Either ti-84 ot ti-83 will be helpful for the sat since you can program them and solve quadratic quadratic equation, find distance in seconds.

Sorry to anyone who pm'd me since yesterday; I can't respond on my phone, and my house has no tv/internet.

I'm in the middle of making a day-to-day study schedule. 21 days left if you include today; not study day.

I'll try to post it up if I ever get my internet back.

@billy I cannot reply to your PM. According to the rule of this website, i need at least 15 posts to send pm's. you need ti-83 or ti-84 plus calculator. If thats what they use in your school, your teacher can program it for you. It will just solve quadratic equations and find areas etc.

Is there factoring(double bubble) on the SATs and if so, are we permitted to use polysmt on our TI84's?

@darmenauck,
Do you have any SAT prep material at all? If you don't, there are some very helpful threads on here that I can look up for ya!

@Reckie,
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the SAT has factoring questions on it...Not sure about the calculator question though.

PlySmlt is the program that finds for you. They never clear my calculator before the test; so I guess it is?

I just gave my October SAT and got only 430 CR, 720 M & 580W. I only practiced for CR the most but I got the lowest in it!! Any suggestions guys, to improve my CR section??
That was my first SAT. I didn't even practice for the writing section and I got 580..for December 1 SAT I'll practice grammar too.
Now only 19 days are left and I'm giving my full focus. And guys, as I said before what to practice for CR? I already practiced BB, PR!

Hey! you guys must be doing awesome! I just wanted to know, what the SAT measured?
Because, when I took practice tests I found that I got like 760-800 CR , 750-800 mat and 740-760 W each and every time almost 8 times in a row, but In the exam I got only a 2050(e=8;630-C,750-M,670-W(2 mistakes)). I don't know what goes wrong. And that too this was my second SAT1. So I don't know and think that another SAT is going to help boost it to say 2200+(as most recommend). I am an Indian in a very competitive pool, so any MIT or Stanford is pretty hard for me without this 2200 cut off. ALSO December is my last SAT.(EC's are OK)
Any advise, guys ?

@scourge566,
How to Attack the SAT Critical Reading Section Effectively ---Definitely take a good glance at that.
Critical Reading---An analysis of right and wrong answer choices ---Then there's this.
Silverturtle's Guide to SAT and Admissions Success ---Checkout the CR section which would be posts #7-#10.
How I got an 800 on the SAT Critical Reading (A Story and Guide) ---That's pretty good too!
There are several different strategies out there for CR, just find the one that works best for you.

@quiverfox,
Well, on practice tests there aren't curves. There are some good curves and bad curves on the actual SAT...maybe there was a harsh one? Yeah, take the December test. All I can really say is to learn, practice, review, and review over what you missed. Good job on the Math score! If you're trying to get a 2200+, using your current Math score, you would need (want) at least a 700+ in CR and W (give or take). Oh, and take a look at the CR links I added for scourge566 too! Ya might find something help in those.

*Not counting today nor test day = 19 more days.*
