| From the experience with my S. it does't matter if you have the best, most expensive tutor in the world.........if you are determined to do better, you can but you MUST study, devote x amount of hours to studying and prepping. My son studied for about 2 solid hours a night for about two months over the summer to insure his score went up and it did quite a bit. |

| Hahaha I didn't think so... Because no offense, but 610 is pretty bad. That's like getting 1 question right. Quote:
Some girl in my grade, june SAT, 1720, october SAT 1960.
There were 2 girls in the grade who've done the SAT like 4 times, they went up gradually from 1900 to 2300. ( I think one of them was 1910 2080 2230 then 2310, and the other was 1940 2120 2250 2310) That's retarded though cause the amount per sitting didn't increase as much as the girl who only sat for it twice and raised by 240 points.
| I'm not sure what you're thinking, but just going by points tells you nothing. If one person increased from 600 to 900, but another increased from 2100 to 2300, who deserves more praise? 900 is still a bad score.
1700s to 1900s is a piece of cake compared to 1900s to 2300s. The girl with the 1960, while 1960 is a above average score, is nothing special. |

| Of the 45 students I have tutored, the most any student has improved is 500 points (1650 to 2150). She was a hard worker and put lots of time in on her own as well. |

| Well yeah sdkdol, but when schools see you've done the SAT 3+ times it kind of makes you look bad. I could do the SAT 5 times and end up with a 2300, but why? Why not get a 1960~2000 and put the energy spent on 5 SAT's into senior year and college essays? |

| May: 1640 (V600/M470/W570)
October: 1960 (V700/M570/W690)
December: Hopefully 2100+
The math scores are really embarrassing, and my main obstacle to a decent score. Ah well, I'm studying for it now. |

| Python, one of the things I want to kill the most is stupid mistakes in math. ARG. I hate them with a passion more demon than human! Quote: |

| Yea, taking the SAT 3+ times is definitely something that looks bad. But since these girls tried multiple times until they reached 2300s, I'm guessing that the schools they're looking at require 2300+, and if that's the case, someone with a 2000 will have very, very little chance of getting in unless they have fantastic ECs to balance it (like multiple state, national awards and recognition). To me, that is much harder than studying for the SATs, and may not even be possible for some people. And while the 3 retakes look bad for the person who got 2300, they will still have a much better chance of getting in. |

| 7th grade SAT and ACT scores
I also know of one case, on the old two-section SAT, of a score increase of 180 points from one test date to the next, because the test-taker was sick the first time. |
