Highest score increase you have heard of

So, what is the highest score increase you have ever heard of in a person (I guess the best way to measure is by the first practice test they took and their final SAT score).

Also, I think that an increase from 2000 to, say, 2150 is more noteworthy that an increase from 1600 to 1800, even though the latter technically gained more points, since the higher you go, the harder it gets to get more.

The most I've heard was a person who started out with a 1820 and went up to 2200.

There are a lot of variables you need to take into account:
> Time length between 2 attempts
> How much practice did the person have for each attempt (the SAT takes practice, so it isn't surprising for a student without any practice to do badly in his 1st attempt then gain 200+ in his 2nd attempt after he has familiarised himself with the test).
> Starting points: You're quite right in stating that an increase from 1600 to 1800 may be not as noteworthy as an increase from 2000 to 2150.

There are... so it isn't just a linear model.

I guess I just judge by general opinion. I mean, increasing from 1800 to 1900 is typical, but someone who has increased from 1900s to 2300s merits alot of wow.

Some girl in my grade, june SAT, 1720, october SAT 1960.

There were 2 girls in the grade who've done the SAT like 4 times, they went up gradually from 1900 to 2300. ( I think one of them was 1910 2080 2230 then 2310, and the other was 1940 2120 2250 2310) That's retarded though cause the amount per sitting didn't increase as much as the girl who only sat for it twice and raised by 240 points.

My son went from 1740 to a 2000. We were thrilled, his goal was 1900, so he far surpassed his personal goal.

@ctmomof3: My October score was 1750 and my goal for December SAT is a 1900. I might break a 2000 by some luck, right? lol

my dad's friend's son improved his score from 1040 to 1400 out of 1600. I think it's just because dad's friend's son did not take his first SAT seriously.
