| They have explanations after the test in the books. There are three steps to it:
1. Read them.
2. Understand them.
3. Keep a lookout for the same format of question on later tests so you don't make the same mistake again! |

| Make sure you know why your answer is wrong, not just why the correct answer is right. |

| CR just takes practice in learning to read actively, while being cognizant in grasping the big picture WHILE concentrating on specific lines WHILE understanding the author's point/tone. Just practice. |

| jumpno, after reading my mistakes, it makes since to me. but when i take another test, i panic about not being able to finish and i rush and guess, and end up missing alot of questions. its not that the CR is hard, it's soo easy, i just feel pressed for time, and end up rushing and making bad mistakes... |

| You just pointed out your own things you need to fix, and only you can fix. It's a big mental game. Stop rushing, etc, etc, etc, etc. |

| Reviewing CR wrong answer for me was always like, well duh, how did I miss that! But I would always get 4-5 wrong per practice test.
I just relaxed test day, and it was like the test clicked for me
If you want to BEST analyze your mistakes, after every practice test I divide it up into these categories (each mistake that is)
-Stupid mistakes: If you felt like you knew the answer right after you knew the correct answer, I would put it in this category. Other stupid mistakes are not bubbling in correctly, etc
-Knowledge error: You lacked prerequisite knowledge required for this type of question. IMMEDIATELY teach yourself how to do it an every question like it. DON'T WAIT
-Irrelevant error: Sometimes there is a question or two that you either know, or don't know. I don't really use this for SATI, unless it's a vocab question. For SATII I see it somewhat more. These questions are basically going to be tehre everytime, but trying to study for them is a complete waste of time.
I didn't study vocab ONCE and guess what I missed on the real test? One vocab question, that's all. Still an 800 |

| ok, i'm no 800 CR , or 2200+ guy. I'm the guy thats below all that trying to get up there-- Just putting it out there. First, you need to build up confidence, and NOT time yourself. I hope you've taken practice tests without limited timing, etc BEFORE you start taking tests timed. (xiggi's method). I know its easy, simple, banal, trite, "hackeneyed" but RELAX. Chill. Stop trying so damn hard. (i need to follow my own advice, b/c the thing that kills me is that i overthink things, which is a result of trying too hard) And another thing, don't think of it as such a big thing (i know, also hard to do, b/c this is one of THE college key, etc) screw that, your practicing. SO, in conclusion do this, and tell me on here or PM me of how you do on you rnext section.
- Relax, stop trying so hard
- take the pressure off of yourself, its practice; build confidence first
- stop timing yourself, if you're not ready
- read the first thread of the SAT section on CC (xiggi's prep advice) |

| grrr i jumpngo, how'r ure journal and practice tests going? Remember i said i was gonna study the xiggi method way a while ago.. yeah i never got around to it. I have to study for the AP chem exam and then SAT 2 chem... its annoying. After that, i ll study for SAT. Since i did get rejected from governor school, i ll have a lot of free time. |
