1.) Colleges will see all your scores. So if you retake the SAT in October, you have to send another score report that has all your past scores. So there's no point in sending a score report now if you're going to retake them later.

2.) I think you have a long time to use your free score reports. I don't think they go away until you use them.

3.) If you want to use the score reports for the safeties now that's fine.

4.) Scholarship people, I think, don't need a score report--for one scholarship I applied to, making a paper copy of the SAT scores was good enough. You can always decide later to send a score report. You can go on the SAT website anytime you want and send another score report.

That's only if you resend them.

Not true. You must use them within a short time of taking the test (which is always before the tests are scored). If you don't use them, you lose them.

It always depends on the rules of the scholarship; if you have a specific one in mind, look at their requirements.

To answer the OP:
If you think you will do well enough on the SAT I, you can certainly send the scores now to the schools that don't require the SAT II. Then, on the SAT II sheet, you can send your 4 free reports to schools that require SAT IIs - they will then also get your SAT I scores. If you don't take any further tests, then you're done (and just have to pay for any additional reports to other schools).

Of course, if you then take the SAT I again, and want it sent to your safeties and any other school you've already sent scores to, you will simply have to send them again.

motherof2girls, you can send the scores whenever you feel comfortable doing so. Colleges will file them away and pull them out for the student once the application is received. This happens all the time.
