Couple of Questions About Yesterdays SAT

1. How do you solve that multiple choice question that asked: if you reflect the graph over the x axis, how many x intercepts and y intercepts do you get? I answered "3" but I have seen many people here say "4" or "5". Can somebody explain their way of solving this problem?
2. Somebody told me you dont lose points on incorrect gridins-is that true?
3. What would my math SAT be with a possible 2 wrong and 0 omitted. Do you think it could break 700? In Nov. I got 690 with 4 wrong and 1 omitted. So I'm hopeful!!!

Thanksss!!

1. I also got 5 with the upside down technique!

but also in regards to 3, if you look at how the scoring works in the Blue Book, it'd be physically impossible to get less than 700 with 2 wrong

It's 5 . . . and you don't need to turn the page upside down to count the x and y intercepts, because the number of intercepts doesn't change.

its the same. you dont even have to flip it. just count how many intercepts there are in the ORIGINAL picture.

i think it's 5, because there was 5 intercepts b4 flip and i dont think flipping it over x axis affects any of those intercepts

:P Well, turning the booklet upside down just wastes time. I wonder what proctors thought when they noticed some kids were rotating their booklets.

^^ that sounds right. the curve is going to be brutal. people can be hopeful and say -1 will be 790, but i think it will be (at most) 770.
