Why doesn't CB give SAT on July, August, September?

Like...that's really annoying. It would be sooo nice to get all of the testing out of the way in the summer.

You want to take the SAT more than the seven times a year you already can?

token: I know it is a lot of times already, BUT...with high schoolers having being so busy during the school year as it is, it would really be nice to move one of their usual dates to the middle of summer, say, the last week in July or first week in August. Perhaps it is hard for them to manage the logistics when schools are closed and many proctors are unavailable.

I know College Board looked for a while at computer-based, year-round testing for the SAT Reasoning Test (just like the GRE), but there were various issues that resulted in that project ceasing.

I've wondered that as well. We considered May but had a wedding to attend that morning. June my dd is dancing that morning. So the next time is October, she's at camp all that previous week. She's seriously considering taking it in Nov. after doing the PSAT in October - at least whatever prep she does for one will be good for the other!

Butternut, I guess we started looking at SAT II's for subjects she is taking this year (Chemistry, math) and saw we had conflicts with all the dates till Nov. Then we thought it might work well if she has spent time studying for the PSAT to go ahead and take the SAT a few weeks later. What do you think - is she better to wait till the spring?

I took the SATs in December, after the PSATs, and I wiosh I would have waited. For the SAT, I think an extra semster of math can make all the difference. The SAT IIs make more sense to take than- I'd forgotten about those.

I wish they would put one in summer. Especially with the way so many colleges are requiring SAT IIs now. I'm just really hoping I'll do well enough on June's SAT so I can take SAT IIs in October and still have time to apply early.
