Is it true??? :(

Is it true that if I got 1500 on the June SAT and got 2000 on the Oct SAT, the collegeboard will cancel my score??? They will consider it by cheating or something like that???

- I used extreme expression.. to know the truth!

I've gone through this, I'll tell you about it.

Basically, too drastic of a score increase, no matter what time interval between two sittings causes it to be flagged. Now, they won't cancel your score, but, they will take extra time (ETS) to make sure you didn't cheat. If you didn't, you will be fine, its just that you will get your score a few weeks later.

When it happened to me, it pushed over to late November which was a panic situation. So, you will be fine.

Usually 350 points or more increase in M+CR causes a flag, or 250 in one section.

They will probably send you a letter if you meet these criteria.

They won't cancel them, just delay 'em, as everyone already said.

Akhamed- Do you know how they checked to make sure you didn't cheat? Did they just compare handwriting from the two tests?

They make sure your handwriting is consistent. Don't worry, they actually hire specialists if they feel its an issue. They also compare answers with those sitting around you, yes, the CB is a creepy folk, they know where you sat. If they see patterns like the same wrong answers, then its an issue.

Also, if you wrote on other sections for previous sections - meaning, you skipped around, that might cause alarm, but ETS rarely cares about that. They do report the other things to CB and its up to them whether to release your scores or not.

Thanks, I was just wondering. I'm kind of hoping my scores will be delayed- that it'll be a sign I jumped 350 points.
