| They don't just look at your SAT score, they look at your entire application. I'm sure if your ECs/recs/essays were amazing, then a 2100 would be perfectly fine for HYPS. If your ECs/recs/essays were decent -> good, then a 2100 probably won't be enough to put you over the top. |

| So based on my EC's listed on the first post, are they amazing or just decent?
Thanks... |

| Hey Welcome to CC icandoit!!
Obviously I am not an expert on conquering the SAT (lol). But anything is possible, especially if you want it hard enough. We are both working for the same kind of score jump (I think I am going to shoot for 2200 instead of 2300), so the advice on this thread will work for both of us.
I could be wrong, but it has been my experience that most SAT I CR reading passages are nonfiction...hope that helps some. |

| You CAN reach your goal....Dont listen to these others who say otherwise because they may be lamenting on thier own "failures."
Listen, if you study, and you drill, and you use these days until that October or Novemeber test you got a shot at 2400. What many people fail to realize is that this is JUST a test with distinct patterns.
But in the end, no one can take you to your goal, other than yourself. There isnt any magic or secrets behind it..If you study, and are dedicated to reaching that score...YOU WILL. Have some confidence, buy books, drill, and study. |

| Please do not bump your own thread five times. It doesn't help anyone. Instead of browsing these forums, start studying! |

| That's a high goal lol. I guess it's possible though.
I went from 2080 soph to 2300 junior year (800 WR, 760 M, 740 CR)
Really similar to Ashraf's score, except I missed one more in math and CR. Kinda sucks knowing that because I would have loved that 2350. Oh well, I am not gonna complain.
I only had one method of studying for SATs. I took almost every single practice test available that included all CB books, Princeton Review, and Kaplan. Some others I can't remember. I took one about 2-3 days and dug into every single question I missed until I completely understood it. There's no super secret to getting a 2300. Just work your ass off.
But yeah like Pimeson said, stop browsing and go study :P
Nobody is going to give you some magic formula to getting a high score. It's how much effort you put into it... |
