timmy got 12, 12, then 11 i think. don't listen to him, he can't get straight 12s!
ahaha kidding!
agree, 25 is really too much. i only have like 3~4 examples(scarlet letter FTW) that beat pretty much any prompts thrown at me
good job on the advice by the way =)

Great thread, we should definetly try to keep this one alive on a constant basis so that anyone taking the SAT after March (like me) will know how well these tips really do work.

I don't think the college board graders are allowed to favor certain examples over others.

Good post. I, for one, believe that the SAT people love history examples.

I just took a practice diagnostic in my prepclass (not actually in the prepclass, just went for the free diagnostic) and did not know that there was an essay O_O. So, I used um, The Roaring 20's, JFK and a personal exp. Are personal experience ones bad?

Somehow I only get 11... It really sucks when I get 11 while others easily ace with 12 points..

don't practice like that.
you will not have ten days to write the essay on the test.
you should only write the essay in 25 minutes.

ummm.... Diablo47, did you even read what AcademicHacker wrote?? I don't think he/she meant to write an essay in 10 days... that's just absurd...
