Question on Score Choice

So I am extremely confused on this.

One person I know tells me that Score choice allows you to pick and choose INDIVIDUAL score categories (Math, CR, or writing). So if I took 3 SAT's, and I just happen to get a 800 on different categories everytime (800 on math the first time, 800 on CR the second time, 800 on writing the third time), according to this person, I can choose JUST those 800's and get a combine score of 2400.

Another person tells me that Score choice allows you to pick scores from multiple SAT results. So if I took 7 SAT's, I can choose just ONE of those scores (the best) to send.

Which one is it?

It's the second one, you can pick which tests to send not which sections to send.
