okaay well, I'm assuming that you mean the SAT I, which is also called the SAT reasoning test. The reasoning test deals more with how well you can
reason, or think through certain problems under the given time than do the
SAT subjects test. And yea there are different tricks for different sections but the one that I've found extremely useful in all three is the "vicious process of illimination."
Which section do you need help with?

Thanks for the assistance

Um..I would have to go with Writing as that was by far my lowest score..but I wasn't too good on any of them.

you mean like your essay?
mmm are you taking it again?

let's see..esay..essay..
try this:
http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=47710613219

I thought the site was really helpful and for the usage, improving sentences and paragraphs, you kinda need to know a sufficient amount of grammar. Since you already
took the SAT, you probably noticed all the idiomatic stuff, faulty comparison,
ambiguities, etc..

but umm what book are studying from?
You should definitely get the Official Collegeboard SAT studyguide (AKA the 'blue book") and some other...
One of my favorites is the "Rocket Review"

1730 without prep? That's pretty good
and now that you prepped i'm sure you'll do fine
but k this will sound stupid, but what do you
mean by "PSH?"
have you been taking the practice tests?

I meant PSH as in the sound I made when I typed that because I was just really ignorant with the whole SAT.

Yes I have been taking practice tests but I don't have the blue book unfortunately. I'm taking the online ones though =)

oh haha durr?
and uh the online ones are so frustrating
even though the Q's will prob be the same,
but taking them on paper is a better determinant of
how well you'll perform.
but that's just me.

good luck this saturday, as you said on my thread we are sort of similar haha. But my retake isn't until December. But, best of luck.

The best advice I can give to you is about the essay since it is my strongest part. I would say follow the "how to write a 12 essay in 10 days" things, but if it says to try to include literary and historical examples--don't. I never put a historical/literary example in my essays I just pulled from "personal" experiences. Make it all up. They won't know the difference. Make sure you EXPLAIN very clearly in detail how your examples relate to your position. Make sure you also fill up the 2 pages, you are almost guaranteed a 10+ (I got 11 and 12 on both SATs I took)

Thank you trav. Yes I have been following the guidelines in "Xiggi's Method", "How to Attack the Critical Reading Section Effectively" and "How to Write a 12 Essay in 10 Days". All of these have been SUPER helpful and my score hopefully significantly increases. Can't wait to find out!!
