Well I remember the first chapter being about the boy going outside and seeing a snake. There were a few pages going into detail about what he and the snake were doing, and then one of the kid's parent's friends came to rescue him. The rest of the chapter goes on to talk about how the snake is the god of the boy's race, and stuff like that. Was the snake in the test black? If it was, I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same thing.

Sorry for going slightly off topic, but can anyone here recommend one or two good study guides for this test?

blueflame: do you mean the questions of the passage involving the snake?
-how did the child show he's brave
-who rescued him
-why did he feel safe (or something similar, don't remember the exact word) the answer: because from where he was, he could hear his parents voices
-what captured his attention (the snake)
don't remember if there was another question...
the passage was taken from the book l'enfant noir

Yeah... The more I think about it, the surer I am that it's from L'Enfant Noir.

34 points off and STILL a 650?? That seems to be TOO generous, doesn't it?

teh curve may seem too generous, but its incredibly easy to get off those many ponits b/c blank answers (where I had ilke seven) and mistakes. Out of my test-taking experience, I have the most doubt with this 1 in terms of ansers
