| SAT II Bio - Simple questions ^ ^
Just curious.. I'm taking the SAT II Bio on May 3rd, and I'm also signed up for the AP Bio exam on May 12th. How different/similar are the Ap/SAT II Biology exams?
If I used AP books to prepare for the SAT II bio, is that wise, or unwise?
Besides reading the Barons AP / Cliff notes AP, I read Princeton, Kapland, and Barons SAT II Bio in preparation for the test. On the PR practice tests, I scored around 780 ~ 800. On the Kapland tests I scored around ~ 720, and on the Barons test I'm barely scoring 700. ;/
For the actual test, I'm aiming for a 800. Do I have a chance..?
Also.. This Friday night, should I simply sleep early, and get a good night's sleep? Or should I attempt to "cram" more information? ^ ^ [This is the first SAT Subject Test I will take, so I'm not really sure what the best strategy is to maximize my score.]

| I got a 660 on the Kaplan and a 780 on the official blue book test, and 750s-770s on the PR tests, so IMO Kaplan's tests are terrible.
The AP books will more than prepare you for the SAT II, I think. At least I hope so. (The AP exam MC questions are alot harder)
As for friday, I would skip school and cram, but DON'T stay up late. Get a good night's sleep. Cramming will help, but don't compromise your sleep.

| get 9+ hours of sleep.
your brain keeps information best the morning of the test.
so review on the way to the testing center.
DON'T bring the material with you, obviously.

| This is ridiculous, I am using Kaplan, and they put on a minute graphic of a dicot stem, that doesn't even match my Campbell book, and you can't even tell the difference between the phloem and xylem because they are all the same size >_> | |

| Same here. I didn't go to school for two days. The Subject Test isn't as easy as it sounds, there are some tricks, but yeah, it's not as detailed. I'm studying AP MC questions for the SAT Bio. | |

| I've also been studying the AP Bio MC questions.
By the way, does anyone know how the Peterson's Biology SAT II Practice Tests compare with relation to the actual SAT II Biology test? Are they harder, easier, or about the same? | |

| I think the SAT II Bio is a lot easier, but there is little room for error. A couple of minor details on a few questions that you might've missed can ruin that 800 score. | |

| I agree. I've heard numerous times that although the questions on the AP Biology Exam is harder in that it asks for recollection of detailed information, the curve on the Ap Exam is much more leniant.
The SAT II Bio should be easier.. But one or two careless mistakes can kill everything ;/. Hopefully the questions on the May one won't be too bad. | |
