Yes, you can switch, add, and subtract as many subject tests as you want (under 3) without talking to the proctor. Just take the test you want and you will be billed later. And if you do switch a test or subtract a test, there will be NO blank spot on your test scores. It will be like you never signed up for it or took it.

How do you decide on the tests you're going to take? What do colleges want to see -- breadth (some humanities, some science) or subjects that you're consistently good at/might major in?

^ Depends on the college--some ask for specific ones like Math II and a science of your choosing.
Others say it is entirely up to you & some other ones say you should take the one most closely related to your possible major/area of interest.

It's basically a way for colleges to gauge your test taking ability/knowledge in other areas beyond the two on the Reasoning Test.

Barrons for World and US History is decent (PR SUCKS here)
Barrons for Math 2
Barrons for French (PR is ok)

wait I just took math I, didnt do as good as i hoped.. im going to be taking math II later on in the year... does this mean i can just send my math II score (and colleges wont see my math I)???

How long are SATII subject test scores valid. My son is doing AP chemistry this year in 10th grade. His teacher think he should take subject text in chemistry this summer right after AP exam. Will the score be still vaid when he applies to colleges in Dec 2010.

Yes, the scores will still be valid. I believe they're valid for 6 years.

They will still be valid, and I encourage your son to take the Chemistry SAT II this May or June.

Can anyone comment on what the top LACs might require (not top 10, but the next 10, such as Wesleyen, Colgate, or Grinnell) in terms of subject test scores? I know there is no exact answer, but something generally would help. An earlier posted commented on Ivy league schools looking for 720 and above.

Sorry, I know this has been answered, but I'm still a little confused and would like clarification.

I am in the class of 2010. So does that mean I can pick only certain scores from one testing date to send?

For example, in May if I take World History, Lit, and Spanish w/o Listening
and I do well on WH/Lit, but suck at Spanish, I can JUST SEND WH/Lit and I DONT have to send everything? or do I?

This is important because if I have to send all three, I wouldn't take certain tests.

So I'm taking Math II, Physics, and U.S. History in June.

Not sure how to prep, but I'll look around for books.

Main question is, are there any books with actual subject tests in them? Or rather, is the College Board one [with all 16 subjects] the only one?
