Is it an easy exam? How is the curve? What are the prep books? Please advise.

I read the PR book, which may have helped refresh some things, but i don't remember seeing almost anything from it on the test. I'm a great history student, but took the test @ end of junior year, having taken honors WH in 9th. There were so many questions I wasn't positive on, and a few that I had absolutely no clue. I thought I would get like 650 because I felt lost on a handful of the questions, but I was VERY happy to see a 750 .

I guess it has a decent curve (assuming that I didn't get super lucky). For one, def. get the CB books that have official practice tests. Seeing that PR didn't help in review that much, i'd say practice tests are the best.

I took AP World my Junior year and then took the test at the end of the year (June). I didn't really study for either the AP or the SAT2 becaues my class was pretty rigorous and I ended up with a 5 and a 770. If you're taking the AP test, just buy Barrons AP World. It's perfect study for both the AP and the SAT2.

I would say it's more detailed than the AP, but there's a good curve (-10 is 800). Like said above, Barrons AP World is more than enough. I only read 3/5 of it and still achieved a score the Ivies would be satisfied with.
