Best way to prep for Chemistry in less than a month?
I know I should have taken the test right after the course but I was kind of oblivious to SAT subject tests my junior year (it's been a long journey for me) So signed up for chem and math II on november and bought the barron's prep book for chemistry. Bad idea. It turns out this prep book is like a textbook; it covers almost everything I learned in Chemistry- even some history about scientists which I hope will not be on the test. So, what's the best way to prepare in my situation? should I stick to this prep book and study like crazy or what?
I took the test as a sophomore and then retook this October as a senior. I just read through Princeton and Barron's, and didn't have trouble with any of the questions.
But there are other factors to consider. Did you take AP Chem? How high do you want to score? Both of these should affect your study plan.
wow i have the same problem, i'm taking chem in november as well.
So i bought the barron's AND princeton review. Barron's is horrible. I mean, i know if i study it thoroughly, i could ace the exam. But frankly, there's no time...
If i were you, go through Princeton Review very thoroughly. Then do their exams, and do the barron's exams. Anything you didn't get, go back to Barron's and review it...
I took regular chem sophomore year and AP chem junior year so I suppose you an say I shouldn't be too worried about forgetting everything. Well, I found out I kind of have to stick with Barron's since I used up a lot of my parent's cash for that lol.
It was like 12 bucks on Amazon . Barron's was a highly useful book - the only reason I knew 90% of the questions I knew was because I briefed through the vast majority of the book. By the way, christian, how long does it take you to read through the books? I took Chemistry (the class) as a sophomore as well, and remembered little to nothing.
I took Chem as a sophomore and AP Chem as a junior and I'm taking the Chem SAT II in December. I'm a little worried but I passed the AP test and I'm going to start reviewing the material this week.
