Biology Subject Test

Does anyone recommend any specific biology prep book? All help would be greatly appreciated.

Princeton Review is a great choice. If you have time, though, I would recommend using Barron's; even though it is considered really hard and at times unnecessary, you'll have all your bases covered for the test.

I used the Princeton Review and thought it was pretty good, but I found that I had to rely on educated guessing and critical thinking for many of the questions. On the other hand, I've heard Barron's has a lot of unnecessary info and you'd need to start studying way in advance, but you're guaranteed a good score if you use it.

Good luck!

I found Barron's to be a wonderful source of review. It seems to have most of the specific details necessary for the test.

I read through Princeton Review about 3 times, and Barrons twice. I took all the Princeton Review practice tests, all the Sparknotes practice tests, and 1 Barrons practice test. Having never taken AP Biology, I got a 740 on October's test, which was considered fairly difficult. I'm not exactly happy with my score, but I guess without a solid biology background, it's as good as it can get.

I guess I should also mention that while I endorse Barron's for general review, PR has much more accurate practice tests.
