Question about retaking Physics!!!

So these are the SAT II scores I have so far:

770 physics
800 math II

I took the physics during sophomore year (I'm a junior now) and I wish I could have received at least 780. The test has 70 questions and I wasn't as prepared to finish and manage my time well enough. I do a lot related to physics outside of school and SAT scores, so I don't think that this score will show incompetence however. I guess I just want confirmation that the 770 won't negatively affect my chances at admission. I don't want to be defined by test scores in my applications and am more proud about the research I do and what I learn from that; this score doesn't accurately reflect my proficience/passion in physics, and even if I got an 800 there's more to me than that.

I don't want to keep asking my parents to pay money for tests and such, so I don't think I'll retake it. Most people here on collegeconfidential usually just make threads to get all their anxiety out and I think this is one of those threads.

I'm also shooting for a 2250+ SAT. Am I ok for ivies, mit, uchicago, etc. as far as the standardized tests category is concerned?

Thanks, would you say that SAT scores are mainly just to level the playing field, to determine who can handle the coursework and nothing more?

well, not "nothing more," but not a huge factor unless they are pretty low?

Don't stress on this--these scores are excellent!!

My understanding that with everything else in line on your App, Ivys are looking for scores "in the 700's".

Great thanks. I appreciate the positive feedback. I'll try to get a good score on the SAT and then I'm DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
(well, I think I'll take bio/ushist sat ii's at the end of the year but those won't be too bad)
