I used sparknotes exclusively to study for the SAT II (Physics, Math II and Chemistry). First, I did a practice test for each without studying (got Math II: 800, Physics: 740 and Chemistry: 680). Then I read through everything on the Sparknotes website the day before the exam (spent ~ 10 hrs on Chemistry, 3 hours on Physics and ~15 minutes on Math).
I ended up with 800/800/800 (on the actual SAT II).
Of course, I have no way of knowing how much of that actually came from Sparknotes, but I'm pretty sure that it covers at least the majority of what you need to know (in many cases, it actually covers more; I didn't have a single question on rotational motion in physics even though Sparknotes gave it an entire chapter, and there was only 1 very basic question on entropy with no calculation even though Sparknotes goes much deeper into the subject).
