**Unofficial AP Biology 2012-2013 Thread**

This thread is for everyone taking AP Biology in the 2012 to 2013 schoolyear. This is the first year that AP Biology students will be taking the new, revised exam.
AP Central - AP Biology Course Home Page

There seem to be a lot of people in the HS Class of '14 (as well as some '13ers and '15ers) taking this class so let's all get together and discuss the course throught the year. Good luck everyone!

I'll start the discussion by asking what kind of summer work you all have. My class is doing the first 4 chapters and their study questions on ecology over the summer. What about you guys?

I'm in the same boat; however, I don't have any assigned work over the summer because I'm taking it through distance learning (My entire shook only has one AP course: AP USH). The labs should be interesting? LOL... I wonder how that will work?
I'm just going to browse through an AP Bio book I've come upon; it has a workbook, so I'll probably work through the first few chapters on my own to get a head start.
I'll probably get a review book when they come out for the revised curriculum. (October-ish?)

For my AP Bio class we have to read "Remarkable Creatures" by Sean B. Carroll and answer questions that goes along with the readings. This is the first AP Bio class that has ever been taught at my school and the first time my teacher has taught it. I'm sure my teacher will prepare us well though because I had her for honors biology and she was amazing!

Man, I wish I could have taken AP Biology right after regular Biology, because I'm really rusty lol. I'm looking at the terms and I remember them from las year, but don't remember what they are, haha.

I took Honors Bio last year as a freshman, so I thought I would take AP Bio this year before I forget everything. We have a really terrible Honors/AP Bio teacher (last year who wouldn't do any teaching, couldn't control our class at all, and would (unknowingly?) permit us to cheat on tests and such), but hopefully that won't drag me down too much. . .

As for summer homework, we have to read Survival of the Sickest and do a bunch of questions on it, and then (this part shouldn't even be called homework) take a bunch of pictures related to vocab terms. Funnn... :/

@MedicalBoy no. PR does not incorporate the new AP Bio format. Stick with Cliffsnotes or wait til January til new AP Bio format books are made.
