Plebes No More!

Don't know how many of you read the USMMA forum so.....
USMMA has just recognized the class of 2010! We have some newly minted 4/c Midshipmen. PLEBES NO MORE! Yep, its a little early. Usually its done in March due to the kids having to get ready for sea duty. Its a good day to be a Mid!

So they're still 4/C...but not considered Plebes anymore? I dunno if I like that system. It just makes more sense to advance by year, IMO.

IIRC, Navy gets recognized the latest out of all the academies. Just shows that we're the hardest of the bunch.

First of all, its February.

Second, they are a week out from finals of their second entire semester. Mids in USMMA 2010 will have 35 - 40 credits completed by the end of the month.

Third, its February, they can't help it if it takes an extra three months to learn the same stuff on the Severn

Sorry. I'm in Nebraska. Not even the calendars can be read in all this snow.

DMeix, yeah its a little strange I know but the USMMA Mids go to school for 11 months per year. The trimester system is looooooong. They usually recognize Mids in March. Keep in mind they do it early for several reasons but one is that the kids need to buckle down the last trimester to get ready for sea duty. They began classes on July 26 this year. The academic year ends on June 19.
