What was suggested is that you gather more information before jumping to conclusions, one way or the other.....unless you have been lurking more than your 13 posts indicate.

That statement applies to everyone, not just those who are new to this form. Actually that has been the trouble all along with the listServ, treating new parents like we are their parents and implying that "We have been here and gone before" therefore our information will be better (more accurate) than yours new plebe parent. Well, we can prove that is not the case. Lots of "jumping to conclusion" occurs across the parent spectrum. There is so much information that changes from year to year, company to company and squad to squad that unless you actually take the time to check or have first hand knowledge no one on the list serve or that matter on this forum knows more than the next.
Offering different points of views and opinions will help all parent and their Mids in the long run. And lets not forget what was for the classes '08,'09,and '10 many very well not be the same experience for the class of '11.
As for Care packages during the AC year. Much varies beteew companies. What is allowed and when it is alowed will be completely different. Trust you Mid when they ask for something that you might have heard here, on the list serv or from another parent that is not allowed. My son's company allowed video games on Friday, Sat. nights and Sunday afternoon. They played a lot online with companymates, in many companies they were not allowed for Plebe's. Trust your plebe, don't be their policeman man.
The saying goes "they rate what they can skate" They know the consequences and if willing to pay then it is their decison and only theirs to have something that maybe is thought of as contraband.
