I'm here Nurseypoo. It's funny that this thread featured some dating issues...Boy actually asked a GIRL to the Wake Forest game and because he used our extra season tickets, they sat with us for the game. What a cutie she is. Very poised and polite, easy to talk with. She's only a couple of months older than Boy but has already graduated from college and is working in the DC area. We liked her alot (especially Mom...she wrote a nice thank-you note to us for the use of the ticket). I jokingly tell my friends that since she's nice, pretty and smart, we'll never see her again! Boy's holding his cards close to the vest on this one...stay tuned!

Okay, I have some good news here. Former neighbor cutie (and son's former flame) calls me and tells me she has a 4 year Army ROTC scholarship to Univ. of San Diego (extremely competitive and HARD to get in to). I know it has nothing to do with Navy, but I thought a bunch of ole fun moms like us would be cheering her on!

My husband asks, "What did she get it for? Volleyball?" (seeing as she plays). I looked at him like he was from another planet and said, "Uh, no. She got it for being smart."

Whoo Hoo! She did ask about the Navy goat, I told her "fear the goat," while advising her of the date of the Navy/Army game.

We are so proud of her and can't wait to have her a little bit closer to us!

That's one of the things I like doing most here on cc - cheering on any of these kids who make the choice of pursuing the ultimate community service job. Wish her well!

Great trip to Annapolis. Fun football game even though the results were not what we all wanted. - Sat in the Delaware section and very good football fans.

Halloween Concert is a must for all at least once during their 4 years by the Bay. The talent just will amaze you, and content very appropriate. This years theme It's a small world: showcasing many different cultures. Started with a selection from Phantom in the Opera, ended with the the lighting of the loan candle with a poem. And grand Finale from Les Miserables (Do You Hear the People Singing)

Good luck to all our Mids on 12 week exams!

MOM2LOLA,

I was in several times in the past month. Here's hoping you get some rain. Then you can really be thankful.

Nurseypoo, I said that when my son called yesterday.

EXTREMELY long pause.

Then, "You're kidding, right?"
