Winter IHUM ¬_¬

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has opinions or heard stuff about these IHUMs:
World History of Science
Mass Violence
Art & Ideas
Fate of Reason
Ancient Empires
the rest seem kinda boring, but feel free to refute that!
thanks, I know IHUM is a lame and overdone topic

I took Ancient Empires my freshman year. I found it relatively easy to do well in, and it was not that stressful. The material was pretty interesting; we covered characteristics of ancient civilizations (Mesopotamia, Egypt, Rome, Greece...) such as leaders, wars, and culture. I remember thinking that the course organization was somewhat confusing, but otherwise the class wasn't bad.

I took Fate of Reason last year and I LOVED it. It was easily one of the best classes I've taken at Stanford. Bobonich is great, and our spring prof was amazing too (he's not teaching it this year). The TFs last year were all wonderful too. I highly recommend the class if 1) the spring prof is good and 2) the TFs for the class are still good. (Are Bob Jones or Randal Harp still TFing for that class? They were both great.) The material was interesting, the course was layed out in a logical way, the essays/exams were reasonable and interesting, overall it was a very well designed and well taught class. It wasn't that hard either, some of the texts were a bit dense but there wasn't tons of reading and the essays weren't too bad.

i really have no idea which ihum to take... i would prefer something that's lighter on the reading, although i'd just like to hear about any that you took (doesn't matter whether you liked/disliked them, any info is really helpful!)
