Stanford has a very good Classics program. Notable professors include Joe Manning (Egyptologist), Grant Parker (ancient history), Josiah Ober (ancient political theory), Ian Morris (archaeology), Jennifer Trimble (archaeology), and others. I had Grant Parker as a professor at Duke and really enjoyed the course.

There's one professor whose research REALLY stands out, though. How many students get to literally follow in the footsteps of Hannibal?
