DIfferent grading curves in different departments

I heard the other day that the while the curve for say, Chem 31 is set around B, the curve for the biosci core classes is set around a C. Is this true? Are any other departments or classes setting lower than a B for the average grade?
Thanks

I don't recall what the curves are set to in those classes, but I do know that the classes I've taken in my 4 years here have had curves set to different places. Even within a department there can be differences - for example, I've had a bio class where it was curved to a B, while another curved to a B+. Stats 60 and Psych 1 didn't curve at all.

Does anyone know about the curve for the physics 40s series, especially physics 45?
