Admit weekend

I haven't gotten the "March letter" containing details about Admit Weekend, but I'm too excited. Does Stanford finaid pay for eligible people to go? I don't think my parents will let me fly across the country full price.

In the package that you will receive, there is a letter indicating whether or not you have received a travel grant. If you don't receive the packet within the next week or so, you might want to contact the admissions office. Have you registered online?

just making sure chronicidal--early approval letters from the Dean means that we got into Stanford for 2008-2009 right?

but yea i'm looking forward to admit weekend, but i think i heard from other people that the info they give us will tell us about travel/commute prices etc (hopefully i'll be waived haha)

In my acceptance packet (received in Dec.), were forms saying that I got the travel grant and instructions on how that works.

Yeah, the schedule is pretty much the same for 2012.

Is the March letter the same letter that the RD students get? If so, then your acceptance package will contain an estimate of you/your family's EFC, along with a hard copy of the e-mail you'll get, and a travel grant, which pretty much indicates that you purchase your ticket and you'll get reimbursed.

Can some local or someone who has knowledge about it comment
on the pros and cons of flying into San Jose V SFO?

If one is planning on going back friday (25th) evening which airport would
be easier to access (going with traffic against traffic etc.)

Curious.

(Oh and I have never been to CA, is there something I should absolutely do while I am
visiting)

as for airports, theres pros and cons for each. a lot of people work in sanfran, so there traffic going out of it (so you'd run into that going from sanfran to palo alto) but i think it might be a little closer to stanford than san jose. i personally would choose san jose, it really is not that far, and iver never experieced that bad of traffic from san jose to stanford.

as for things you should do... norcal beaches do NOT have warm water... but they can be pretty. san fran is a fun city, it has a cool zoo. if you're willing to drive a bit the monterey bay aquarium is very cool. down town palo alto (right near stanford) has some good food like this person above me mentions.

i hope you have fun, see you all admit weekend

Arwen15, you must go to In-N-Out or you will regret it forever.
