When do first year students move in this fall?

HI,
I'm trying to plan my schedule and get air tickets etc...

When do first year undergrads arrive on campus this coming fall? I checked the University Academic Calendar, I only found that the first day of class is 9/22. I'm not really familiar with how this works, but I'm assuming that students settle in before that date right ?

Thanks!

If classes begin the 22nd, new students will move in on the 16th (the previous Tuesday), the first day of orientation. Unless you're an international student, it's pretty much required that you move in that day--no earlier, certainly no later. You might consider flying in a day before and staying in a hotel overnight, especially if your parents are going along. If you're flying in from the east coast on Tuesday, you'll probably be one of the last people to check in, as most people tend to arrive by lunchtime.
