Clothes.

What type and amount of clothing should the avg. (non-athletic) frosh girl bring?

You have a dresser and a wardrobe to put all of you clothes. You could probably leave your cold weather stuff at home until Thanksgiving. You need to dress in layers because if goes from hot in the day to cold at night. Bring stuff for dress up -- they can't get enough of costumes there.

hmmm... from what people have told me (stanford freshman) bring enough so that you don't have to wash laundry too often. two to 3 weeks of laundry? although the dress up stuff is unique. should we be thinking about any formal wear?

^semiformal wear at least. I went to a class during admit weekend and in one class there were group presentations. Guys had on dress shirts and ties (some had collared shirts) and girls had decent dresses or whatever else is semiformal wear for girls. I'm planning on bringing a nice shirt and a tie or two.
