Change Housing Assignment?

Is it possible to change housing assignments? Any chance at all? Has anyone ever done this, or know of anyone who has? Please help. Thanks.

you can't change housing assignments before school starts. afterwards, i know of a few people who switched, but they were all due to injuries. one girl moved off my floor cause she couldn't walk up stairs, another had to move cause she needed a private bathroom while recovering from an injury.
where are you living next year?

arpdav -- the thing about the 4-class dorms is that they are about 1/2 --> 1/3 freshman. so although there are other classes living there, freshman are usually the dominant ones. also, usually only the freshman are there during NSO so you get a chance to get to know all the freshman of your dorm before all the upperclassmen arrive. one of my good friends lived in burbank last year and loved it, plus it was easier for him to talk to upperclassmen about...anything really -- don't worry, by the end of the year you will be thinking that your dorm is the best, and you couldn't have imagined living anywhere else. so my advice is to give it a shot, you'll probably love it

i lived in burbank last year. I didn't think it was the _best_ dorm or anything. It was... quiet, though. So at least I got some studying done.

The thing is, it depends on the pool of people who live there anyway, which varies from year to year, so there is really no point in trying to switch out. Not really worth it.

i knew a few girls who hated burbank last year. i think they thought it was not "social" enough?

You can't switch your dorm unless you have a pretty serious reason (such as a medical concern). Unfortunately, a lot of people want all frosh, so they won't switch you for that. During the school year, yes, some switch. From what I heard, there always seems to be a lot of moving in and out of FroSoCo. As for my dorm, one girl left because she couldn't sleep, and one guy moved in for a medical reason. That's really it.

You definitely can't just say "I wanted all frosh, please change me."

disability...or say that you are ridiculously unhappy and bordering on suicide. but that will have to be at least after you've spent one quarter at your dorm. i think burbank isn't the worst dorm you could've had, not the best either. i'm guessing serra might be worse. i don't know, it all depends on the people. stop crying and at least check it out. if you absolutely hate or your roommate sucks balls, then try switching winter quarter.
