Is Stanford's EPGY Summer school a prestigious program?

Is Stanford's EPGY summer school program a prestigious, competitive program to get into? How about John Hopkins' CTY program or Junior Statesmen of America? Will it look good on college application? What's better to attend, CTY or EPGY?? By the way, I'm a international student (i don't live in the US mainland)

Do the Standford University Summer College, it's a much better experience. I did it this past summer and had an awesome time. There were quite a few international students in the program. You enroll in their summer undergraduate courses with Stanford students (the CS class I took even had graduate students in it) and get actual college credit for the classes. I'm not really familiar with EPGY or CTY, and Junior Statesman is a ripoff for the little you get out of it.

The programs won't guarantee your admissions in the university but I'm sure they can't hurt and the admissions people at least can see that you have a lot of interest in the school.

Do it, I guarantee you'll have an awesome time.

Are you asking about SUMaC? I remember a post here from a girl who went to SUMaC who said that pretty nearly all of the SUMaC kids from the year before got into their top-choice schools. NO summer program is a sure thing, but any summer program with competitive admission (e.g., SUMaC) is a sign of academic ability.

Good luck in your application for summer programs.

But, EPGY would work better for younger students and is a 2-week course instead of 8 weeks--so it would work for some who could not do the 8 week course, or are entering sophomores (it is primarily for juniors and seniors). My daughter is applying to the Expository writing course, but not sure if will go--there are so many different programs to choose from.
