thesmiths, I have the opposite problem.

I have a 4.5 weighted GPA, but I have a 27 ACT, which translates into an 1830 SAT score.

Like you, I think I wrote my essays well.

Are there any people waiting for Monday's college decisions?

I don't think they'll have the last year's problem of over-enrolling. From what I've read, this year's admittance rate is the lowest its been in Stanford's 117 year history. So 2400 students were admitted a couple will probably decline for one reason or another. Basically, if you consider the current freshmen class size, I think they have room to bump that number to say....2500/2600?

got waitlisted too

does it matter what time you send in your request for waitlist? or are they all equal from a person who does it now than a person who does it a week later.. than a person who does it April 30

The waitlist isn't ranked, so we are all re-reviewed when a spot opens up.

I think we all have a great shot because many students will be declining Stanford over Harvard and Princeton (both got rid of early admission so kids won't be accepting offers until Monday when decisions are out). I also think it is weird that the AP test sign ups (at least for Idaho) are the day before most colleges send out decisions. How am I supposed to know if I should take the test if I have no idea where I am going to end up?

I got waitlisted, and didn't proofread my essays, and after I submitted, I found about 10+ fragments or grammatical errors. Oh joy. Such regret...

waitlisted, but thats pretty much what i expected since i spent the least amount of time on stanfords app. im probably not going to be going there anyway, so i dont think ill be hurt too much if they reject me.

like someone said before in this thread, we're still in a very select group of people...i havent heard anyone from my school who got in (they were all waitlisted EA), and these were really amazing people at a highly nationally ranked public school.

also, does anyone know if the wait list acceptance thing is binding? that is, if we agree to be on the waitlist and we're accepted, we have to go to stanford?

I got waitlisted but I probably won't request to be put on the wait list (I've already got into schools that are higher on my list)

Waitlisted for Stanford, but that's kinda okay; I already made my decision with Princeton. Just hurts my ego! lol
