Wow, I freaked out when I came home at 11PM and didn't see an email. I think I'm going to cry myself to sleep now.

I keep praying to God for the admission letter, or failing that, death.

But he never answers.

I think Stanford's being so disrespectful towards the applicants! I'm sure they know everyone's dying to find out!
And it's been.. 9 hours!

I don't know if this practice of making applicants waiting is common, but a family friend got her Cornell letter 4 years ago at 2 AM...or it might have been an online website access code or something, but the point is it's not too uncommon..right? haaha..we gotta hang in here! =)

Good luck all of you.

An acceptance as an apology wouldn't be too bad. But
no worries, the cornell story is kind of comforting.

yea but did u read on their website--their acceptance rate was 9.5 percent--2,400 students only out of which ~750 were admitted from SCEA....
That tells me that there's no way I could've gotten in..

Unprofessional

I am so sorry that so many applicants have not been sent their admission decision from Stanford by e-mail yet.

Okay, nobody's perfect (see Cal's faux pas re telling certain applicants not to reply to other UCs, only to reject many of them days later), but I sincerely hope that these esteemed institutions of higher learning are not so "full of themselves" to admit that they made a mistake.

Making anxious applicants wait 9 hours plus to receive an admissions decision?

Absolutely ridiculous.

Stanford needs to wise up and adopt a "log in" system that the UC campuses have successfully used (at least UCLA and Cal). That way, you don't have people waiting, literally all around the world, for an e-mail to show up in their "in-box." Such hubris.

Stanford should be embarrassed.
