With respect to mass email being filtered by spam, try doing a Google search on spam and Stanford computer science. There are articles and papers from their CS dept. on spam...and they have been read by online email providers such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. Their mass email response of acceptance/rejection fits the spam model as defined by their CS personnel, as well as that used by the online email providers as well as ISP's. These providers typically place a low priority on the delivery of spam, the result many on this forum have experienced in delayed responses.

It is interesting to see that other top universities handle their notifications differently. It is also interesting that Stanford suggests the appearance of a "green" university by not sending out letters of rejection when compared to what they require that applicants submit on paper specifically to their admissions committee.

Many of you who have not received a response may be a result of the Stanford email numbers meeting the spam definitions of your email providers, as has been noted in this forum. If Stanford is a world class institution, you would think they would realize this and provide a different means for candidates to obtain their results. Perhaps the number of phone calls they will receive on Monday will finally get through to them.

Haven't heard either. Well I was in LA all week. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for the letter.
Rejectees don't get letters. Not worthy of the postage, apparently.

Well both Email and the regular US Mail are not delivery quaranteed. An applicant, who did not receive the accepted or waitlisted email due to the spam issue, might be waiting for the US Mail and for some reasons didn't receive it either. He/She may be thinking that is rejection without bothering to contact Standford. Hope such case would not happen, but there is a possibility for it to happen.

Still haven't received mine as of this morning. This leads me to conclude with near positivity that something went wrong in the delivery process and I will not be receiving a decision at all. Guess I'll be calling on Monday.

S was also deferred EA, now rejected. Email arrived 11:30 pm Sat night. Have to agree with others that EA rejects were sent last of all -- seems they wanted to prolong the agony. Good luck to all of you, I know this is tough.

I and my two friends (one from my school, the other an international from Turkey) were deferred EA, received our decisions yesterday, and were all rejected.

This really sucks. Someone write to Mercury News (of San Jose) and tell them about this travesty; Stanford at least deserves a little PR revenge from us.

hey, still no email for me either. I'm beginning to think my yahoo email automatically deleted it as spam. So I'm just going to forget about it and call on Monday.

Well, 48.5 hours later, still waiting here. I think this pretty much seals the deal. Stanford outright forgot or failed to send some Regular Decisions.
