Native Americanism

Does Stanford actively recruit prospective students of Native American descent? Information, statistics of admission, or anything else would be most appreciated.

to be honest, it is very easy to get into stanford if you are native american due to affirmative action. there are only 2% of native americans currently at stanford. thus, they are looking for more native americans(urm's) to diversify the student body.

iamtooperfect that is a naive assumption. Only 1% of the US population is of Native Ancestry (including Alaska), so to have 2% shows an overrepresentation not a URM. This is certainly not the case at all schools, but you seem to imply Stanford is trying to meet some threshold.
I would say an NA student has a unique cultural background and academic skills they will certainly have a great shot, but won't be admitted based solely on having at least one grandparent be full Native American.

It's not "very easy." It's not "very easy" to get into Stanford for anyone. NA students still need to be very strong academically--high GPA/SAT, good ECs/awards, etc. Some of them may not be "amazing," but they are certainly extremely qualified.

I agree with brackis.

yes, i admit that i exaggerated when i said "very easy." but being native American will definitely help you be accepted into Stanford. it will be easier than being asian or white
