economics at stanford

I am thinking about majoring in econ.
Can anyone tell me about how good it is at Stanford? Also
Is it hard to get an A? is there like a grade deflation for Econ majors? someone said that they only give A's to top 30%of the class. I guess then it might be a bit competetive to get a good GPA for Law school if I decide to go to Law school. I really would appreciate any comment on this, thanks everyone
