Your SAT 1/ACT are both really low for Stanford. Try to break at least 2000 on the SAT or 30 on the ACT. You say you're from a poor urban community which probably means a bad school district, lack of academic advising, etc so Stanford will look at your app a bit more leniently than it would most others. Your AP scores are also kind of low, but again, as I've said, Stanford might chalk it up to a bad school district.

Everything else on your app is really good and your activities/awards are pretty impressive. GPA and course rigor are also perfectly good as well (does your school only offer calc AB and not BC? If it offers BC, it might be better to take that instead. If it doesn't, its ok and Stanford will understand).

Good luck!

thanks oh and I forgot to mention my Grandparents on my mother's side both went to Stanford. I know that sounds kinda odd for me being in a poor urban community but it is what it is. And yes we my school only offers AB the teacher for some reason refuses to teach BC.

your stats are very low, but you say you are in a poor urban school (how poor?) that could make up for it to some extent.

there was a girl on CC last year who got in with a 1700. her ECs were OUTSTANDING though... i might find the thread for you in a minute

here you go, it was a guy not a girl:

Accepted And With A 1700 Sat Score!!!

your CR/M score is much better, class rank a little lower, but generally comparable in-school academic performance.

however, he took numerous college classes, showing he wouldn't be limited by his school.

also, his ECs were ridiculous. insane amount of personal initiative, leadership, and community service.

if Stanford reached for a kid like this... then sorry, but it will probably be a no for you.
