advantage of applying early?

i've looked at Stanford's early vs regular admission stats and it seems like they don't admit a significantly higher percentage of applicants in december (i feel like i read somewhere that they accepted 13% early?? could be wrong). what are the advantages of applying early if there's little percentage-wise benefit? im weighing my options for next year.

thanks!!

it was like 12.somthing vs 8.somthing, so aparently a 4% increase... I suppose i can only speak for myself but i applied in hopes that that 4% will make a difference.

The higher-quality early applicant pool supposedly balances out the discrepancy.

Personally, I chose to apply REA because I wanted to find out sooner. That's it.

dont try to play the number game
applicants dont win at the number game
apply early if its ur first choice and thats it
at least dont take the spot if u know its not ur first choice

stanford is my number one.... but im just thinking it would make more sense to apply somewhere early where more people are accepted early, basically to take advantage of a higher acceptance rate.

just make sure its something you do because u wana go to stanford
bc there r so many people who would give so much for one of those admit spots

Apply early if it's your first choice. And if your app won't get any better by waiting a few months (ex. better scores, gpa, essays, etc.)
